Aberdeen - NS ? - Gatty ? - Ross 358

A dial of 3 feet square, constructed of a metal plate attached to the face of one of the buttresses of the chapel at about 25 feet above the ground.

It was said by Ross to be an original part of the structure which at 1494 would make it the oldest dial in Scotland. However, to my eyes it is a later addition

This sundial was a pleasant surprise. I had taken a day to visit Aberdeen from St Andrews in the hope of escaping the ever present sea fog which covered the East Coast for most of summer 2004.
