Kirkside Place

Sorn, Ayrshire - NS 552270

Found in a junkyard around 1915!

It bears the coat-of-arms of the Pepdie family and has a square shaft with four layers of panels and a tapering finial with six layers of panels.

Visited 07 June 1981 - A. R. Somerville

There are also two facet dials at Kirkside Place

Despite the fact that Sorn is tiny I have not been able to pin down the dial to more than the OS grid reference given by Somerville. There is a possibility that it is in fact Kirkside House in which case it might be easier to find.

There are no images or tales as I have not visited Kirkside Place in Sorn yet and Ross does not include it.
